Life and Not Death

God is good; we can trust His Word completely. The elderly mother of a lady of our church was sent to the hospital to die. She had no blood pressure and a barely measurable pulse. She had been experiencing health problems for a few years and her family thought this was the end. The daughter who attends Faith Family Church called Rebekah Porterfield and said they were ready to let their Mom go, but wanted Rebekah to pray for her Dad that he would be able to handle her mother’s passing. Rebekah prayed with the daughter and then called and told me. God had previously spoken to me that there were some things that were supposed to happen before this Mother passed. Right where I was in my office, I stood on that word from God, and in Jesus name took authority over death, sent the word of healing to her and commanded her heart and body to strengthen and receive healing. In less than an hour her blood pressure and pulse were normal and she told the doctors that they needed to let her go home.

The above event happened several months ago. In early April 2011, this same woman went to the hospital with a suspected stroke. Again, she seemed very bad. But again, in Jesus name I took authority over death and commanded life in her body. Within ten minutes we received a text message from her daughter saying, “She is 1000 percent better.” God is good. Jesus meant what He said in John 10:10, “I am come that they may have LIFE.”

Miracle Pain Relief

We were doing some renovations at the church and a man was there doing some painting for us. I felt impressed to witness to him about the healings experienced at church. I hesitated, not wanting to interrupt him, then finally did it. I told him a few testimonies and he said, “I knew it. I knew something was going on here.” He went on to tell me that for many years he has suffered with severe back pain and has had to take pain medication twice a day for his back just to be able to work. He takes the medication in the morning and again after lunch. There have been times, even with the medication, that the pain would be so bad that he would go a week or more without being able to work. He said that since he had been working in our building, he had not had to take the medicine after lunch. The pain just didn’t return while he was in the building working. When he went home, by morning the pain had returned and he needed the medicine again. He said nothing like this had ever happened before.

Heart Healed

My Mother had a very enlarged heart. She went to the hospital and the doctor said she needed a transplant. I talked to the doctor alone and he said that my Mom, due to her age and deteriorated condition, would not be able to get a donor heart; she simply was not an acceptable candidate. He basically told me she would never leave the hospital. There was nothing they could do. I went in and laid hands on her in Jesus name, and prayed for her that she would be healed and live. She had two big problems. First, water retention around her heart was too high. Second, her potassium levels were too low. Within a few hours after I prayed for her, the water retention was way down, and her potassium levels had risen dramatically. She was stronger. This encouraged the doctors and they began looking harder for possible treatments. They came up with an experimental clip that would help her heart even in the enlarged condition. She went to another hospital where they put in the clip. They told Mom that the clip would help keep her from getting any worse but that heart wouldn’t get any worse but she would never get any better. They said she would never be able to go up and down steps, do laundry and work like she used to. They were wrong. Because of God’s healing power her heart has strengthened and improved greatly. She is back to normal, going up and down steps, doing laundry, gardening, etc. Praise God!

Heart Healed 2

Cynthia A. heard about the healings happening at Faith Family Church. Cynthia needed a heart transplant; her heart was extremely enlarged, she had a lot of flui(Rid around her heart, she had lost a lot of weight, and was doing very badly. A friend of Cynthia’s asked me to call her. I called and talked to her about healing and prayed for her on the phone. This was around early September of 2010. I told her to listen to a healing series I had done and posted on the church website; I told her she should listen to it over and over, because faith comes by hearing and hearing (Rom 1o:17). She did. Then she came to church on a Wednesday night (Cynthia does not attend Faith Family Church); she looked frail. She was week, her breathing was labored, and she had to walk very slowly. She said she’d had no appetite for quite a while. We (Rick & Rebekah Porterfield) laid hands on her and prayed for her; on way out of church Cynthia remarked that she was feeling hungry. A few days later Cynthia went to the great Cleveland Clinic (she had been previously scheduled to go); They told her they could do nothing for her. She was not a good candidate for heart transplant even though that was what she needed. A combination of age, frailty and weakness ruled her out. She told them she was feeling good and that her strength was coming back (Healing virtue was at work in her body!). They told her that she obviously felt worse than she was acting. They sent her home and said they couldn’t help her. A couple of weeks later, Cynthia visited us on a Wednesday night again. The difference was amazing; her color was good, she was strong, and breathing easily. She said she had walked two miles that day for exercise! She came to declare and show us that the Lord had healed her; this was around early October. I called Cynthia on November 10. She said she had been to her doctor for a follow up exam and her doctor was amazed. Her heart has shrank and she no longer needs a transplant – Glory to God! The doctor confirmed her healing. A month or so later, we heard from her again. Her doctor did some more tests and was so amazed at the results that the doctor called Cynthia from home to tell her how much more her heart had improved. Medical science gave her up for dead but God healed gave life. Praise God!

Thyroid Healed

I knew something wasn’t right because I had always been cold natured and suddenly I was hot all the time. I went to a doctor (an endocrinologist) who examines me and ran some tests. The doctor said that something had happened and my immune system was attacking my thyroid; antibodies that were supposed to measure very low were many, many times higher than they should be and were attacking my thyroid. The doctor said I would need medication for the rest of my life and very likely surgery also. My husband (Rick) and I agreed for my healing. Soon I was feeling cold natured again; since then my thyroid has been checked twice and both times everything has been normal. By Jesus stripes we were healed (1 Pet 2:24)!

Three Healings

I went to Rick Porterfield after service one day with three prayer requests.

1. I was having elective surgery. The doctor told me the recovery time would be six weeks. I wanted assurance that I was making the right decision to have the surgery and a rapid recovery.
2. I have suffered with daily headaches for years,and have been prayed for several times for them. I’ve taken headache powders and over-the-counter pain killers galore to control them. I wanted to be healed from the headaches once and for all.
3. My husband, was home that Sunday morning suffering from a pulled muscle in his back from Friday’s physical training exercise (he is an Army officer). He was lying on the floor when I left for church, hurting badly.

Brother Rick laid hands on me and prayed for all these situations. When I got home from church, my huband was up making lunch! He was still moving slowly, but he wasn’t in the extreme pain he had been in earlier. By Sunday evening, he was walking completely upright, and although he said his back was still sore, the pain wasn’t there constantly like it had been. Monday morning Eric went to PT and ran two miles! Praise God!

On Wednesday morning I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. I felt very strongly God’s peace and approval for the the elective surgery! This surgery was supposed to have 6 week recovery period – Only a couple of days after surgery, I was able to be up and around, cooking and doing light housework! Five days after surgery I was able to drive myself to my doctors appointment! Each time I saw the doctor, he said everything was looking wonderful and I was healing nicely. About three weeks out from surgery, when the doc saw me, he said, “This looks like a home run!” He couldn’t believe it had been less than three-weeks since surgery! He said I was healing great, and this was one of his top success stories!

Finally, I am now almost completely off of pain medication for headaches. God is so good!

Back Healed

I experienced a lot of back pain,numbness in my feet, and i was walking with a limp. I went to the doctor and they x-rayed me and found that I had a ruptured disc. They said I would need surgery. I met Rick and Rebekah Porterfield at Faith Family Church one evening; they laid hands on me and prayed for me. I am now 99% pain free and the numness and limp are gone. I went to another doctor for a 2nd opinion; he looked at my chart and said i should not even be able to walk. Praise God.

Healed of Eczema

I am a beautician; several months ago I developed eczema on the palm of my hand. It spread to where it covered nearly my whole palm. I used all kinds of treatments, lotions, and medicated lotions, but none of it worked. I have to work with shampoo and water and my hand would really burn and hurt. Finally it began to spread to my other hand. Finally I came to myself and I’d had enough; I prayed for my hand. A couple of days later, I went to put on the lotion, and realized the eczema was completely gone. praise God!

Severe Burn Healed

I was taking a pot roast out of the oven and accidently spilled boiling grease and water on my hand (I was cooking the roast on high!). It hurt so bad I almost couldn’t stand it. My hand was red, swollen, and the skin was starting to peel back. My sister got Brother Rick of Faith Family Church to call me. He prayed over the phone for my hand. A little while later, it felt like something swept over my hand. I looked at my hand and it was completely normal. All traces of pain, redness and swelling were gone. Healing is for everyone.

Bleeding Behind Eyes Healed

I had bleeding behind my eyes that was destroying my eyesight. Brother Rick of Faith Family Church prayed for me and the bleeding stopped. My doctor confirmed this. Over a year has passed, and the bleeding has not returned. Thank God!
